Skip to main contentMentorLink pairs Brownsburg DECA members one-on-one with chapter alumni — role-play reps, written event feedback, ICDC prep, and real talk about college and careers.
Your advisor is in your corner. Your mentor has been in the room — same categories, same conference levels, same nerves in the hallway beforehand.
Run live scenarios with someone who has been judged on them. Real feedback on your opening, your numbers, and your close — before it counts.
Share your business plan, campaign, or research paper with an alum who wrote one that placed. Direct notes, no hurt feelings.
Learn how they qualified, what judges actually reward, and how to hold it together when your section finally gets called.
From picking a major to landing a first internship — advice from Bulldogs who are a few years ahead of you, not a few decades.
Brownsburg DECA isn’t a club you age out of. The people in this photo are the ones who ran the role-plays, wrote the plans, and stood at the podium — and MentorLink is how they stay in reach after they graduate.
We’re starting small on purpose. Every request gets read by a person, and every pairing is made by hand.
Your grad year, your event, and what you’re stuck on — a role-play close, a written entry, a state bid.
Brownsburg grads share their year, their field, and what they can coach. Most of them credit DECA for where they landed.
The MentorLink team pairs you with an alum who fits your event and your goals. A real person makes the call.
Video call, email, whatever works. One honest conversation can change how a whole season goes.
Real profiles get added here as Brownsburg alumni join. Until then, these cards show the format a listing will take.
These are example profiles, not real people. No student has been matched with anyone shown here.
A sample listing for a marketing-track alum. A real profile names the events they competed in, how far they advanced, and what they’re best at coaching.
A sample listing for a finance-track alum. Real profiles include current major or industry, so you know whose advice you’re actually getting.
A sample listing for an entrepreneurship-track alum. Real profiles note availability, so you know roughly how often you can meet.

Yes. MentorLink is free for every current Brownsburg High School DECA member. Alumni volunteer their time — nobody gets paid, nothing gets charged, there’s no upsell later.
Because matches are made by hand, expect a reply within about a week. If your event is one where several alumni have signed up, it’s usually faster. Either way you’ll hear from us — including if we can’t find a fit yet.
It happens, especially early on. We’ll tell you straight instead of leaving you waiting, then do one of two things: pair you with an alum from a closely related event who can still help with the fundamentals, or hold your request and reach out the moment a match shows up.
MentorLink is a student-led project inside the Brownsburg High School DECA chapter, with support from our chapter advisor. Anything a student, parent, or advisor wants to ask can go to [your-email@example.com].
As much or as little as you have. No minimum commitment, no fixed schedule. Some mentors do one role-play call before a conference; others check in across a whole season. You and your student set the pace.
We use it only to make your match. Your email isn’t shared publicly, sold, or added to a mailing list. Students under 18 should let a parent or guardian know before setting up a first meeting.
Chasing a state bid, or ready to give back to the chapter that launched you — either way this takes about two minutes.
Free for every current Brownsburg DECA member. Tell us where you are and what you’re working on.
Someone on the MentorLink team will read it personally and follow up by email within about a week.
Give back to the chapter that launched you — one student at a time, on your own schedule.
We’ll be in touch by email with next steps and, when there’s a good fit, an introduction to a student.
